- Just as we begin mourning the Merc, Sal Pizarro reports that San Jose magazine is closing up shop. But now where will I get my monthly fix of a group of community "leaders" standing awkwardly together and answering insipid questions? And what will businesses leave on the tables in their reception areas to demonstrate how locally focused they are?
Although I must admit, this spread of people with their dogs is cute. Even Mr. Pizarro makes an appearance, as at right.*
No wonder he got the scoop. Who could say no to Chickenbone? - A tipster notes that the departing Managing Editor for the Merc is going to a PR firm with quite a line-up of clients. All-stars include Norcal Waste Systems, Major League Soccer and Penthouse International.
So many jokes, so little time. - For those no longer paying attention, the gap in the Measure B race continues to spread in favor of passage. As of writing, it now leads with 66.74%.
Excellent. Just when the completion of BART makes it convenient to go to A's games, they're moving the team to Fremont. Such is our luck.
