Hon Lien's Campaign Pledge: Honesty
7:04 AM - Link to this article.
Yesterday, we discussed Hon Lien's hidden bankruptcy, and mentioned, briefly, that a number of individuals were frustrated by her defaulting on her debts.
Well, now we discover that many of those left in the lurch by Hon's fiscal irresponsibility (if we may coin a term) didn't sit back and stew. On at least four occasions, Lien and / or Golden Phoenix Supermarket were taken to Small Claims Court to try and recoup their money - one as recently as last fall, while Hon was focused on her juggernaut campaign for school board. (She came in last - revealing clearly who her campaign consultant must be.)
For your perusal, here are the court filings, written in dense legal terminology, with very aesthetically-pleasing background colors.
Mercado Latino vs. Golden Phoenix, Hon Lien
Russell Brimer vs. Golden Phoenix
Franzella Produce vs. Golden Phoenix
Then there's this one:
Creditors Trade Association vs. Best World Seafood, Hon Lien, et al.
According to Hon's (revised) message to the public, she succeeded in every enterprise "except one". Obviously, because Hon is all about openness and honesty (as of today), this suit must be related to Golden Phoenix as well.
Well, turns out it isn't. It's related to Sunnyvale Seafood for which, according to Hon's bio, she was the CEO. This lawsuit was in 2004, before the failure of Golden Phoenix, and appears to be creditors attempting to collect from Hon and other clients.
So what is it, Hon? Is having a collections agency take your business to small claims court another one of your successes? After all, they were all successes "except one". But which one?
And one last question for the Mercury News: Is being sued by multiple people for inept business practices at multiple businesses while touting your business acumen as your sole qualification for holding office still on par with not filing a report on time with the state?
